The Old Spice Experience Challenge titled The Chronicles of Libertyville: Prince Fshguy has come to a close, and a special congratulations goes out to the big winner, Rand al Thor 19 who snatched away the lead from MajinFro at the last moment. A total gain of 2,870 points was achieved... in 7 days no less!
When you count it up on the final day, all 26 challengers gained 2040 points. Rand al Thor 19 added 945, botafogo007 added 450, Frostbite added 230, MajinFro added 110, Cogo2112 added 80, dmd 23 added 55, jaferris added 50, Harlequinhybrid added 45, KlukKluk Tijgie added 40, stallion83 added 10, Fshguy added 10, Nbag3 added 10, and kaens added 5. A special congrats and thanks to the 25 other competitors.
Challenge update - 5/22/2008
Yesterday saw some furious gamerscore action. Here's the recap. The competition is heating up as MajinFro jumped in front of Rand al Thor 19 by putting up 345 points. Overall, the 26 total challengers put up a total of 1582 points, so at least people are competing! MajinFro added 345, botafogo007 added 200, Frostbite added 160, jaferris added 145, Rand al Thor 19 added 130, Harlequinhybrid added 120, avsfan4ever33 added 110, KlukKluk Tijgie added 60, stallion83 added 60, Big Will 1982 added 60, bLiNd x RaGe added 55, Nbag3 added 52, Vengeance73 added 25, Dog of Thunder added 15, Misha LinGhan added 15, dmd 23 added 10, Fshguy added 10, kaens added 5, and Jcnet added 5. Overall, the 26 total challengers put up a total of 1800 points, so at least people are competing! And they are off! Place your bets! The Old Spice Experience Challenge known as 'The Chronicles of Libertyville: Prince Fshguy' is in action with 26 people duking it out. Everyone's dusting off their old games and picking up some new ones for this challenge. A lot of sleepless nights are ahead for these devoted challengers. We'll see who comes out on top.

Rand gave me a huge sum of money to let him win.
it's because we love you. I would go for the win but I am still waiting for a check to clear before I buy the DLC for FIFA street 3 and I'm not going to do that one until I can just knock it all out at one time. So expect 1250 from me in the next challenge.

I'm not sure how many hours It took to get that 1k though, I already deleted the gamesaved I had downloaded for it.

So yeah I got a LONG way to go before catching you, but seems like I did pretty well for my first week of playing it :)
Man seeing the top 5 go at it makes me feel left out. I wish I had gotten into it, but I'm retired ;)
This will be the first challenge i've been in where every single person has scored at least some amount of points in it I think.
I'm the only one in it with zero points right now but i'll make sure I unlock a few achievements before the challenge ends.
I've just been playing Final Fantasy Tactics on my psp.
Top 5 are pretty tight on scores... Next two days could be interesting... Good thing I'm going to blame American Idol and Dancing with the Stars for cutting into my gaming time...
That and the biological imperitive that I get sleep every once in a while...
I sure didn't expect to be in 1st. Everyone can thank Rand and his friends for getting me into 2 Shadowrun boosting sessions and scoring 500 something points.

@ kaens ~ sorry, I missed that post earlier. I played it a lot for a month or so, then I burned out a bit for another month or so. But it's so different from anything else on the 360 that I'm back for another pass for a few days at least.
There is a menu under stats that tells you how much time U have spent in each match and win/loss ratio and a few other things. I have one board I spent 39 hours on so far. Another reason for moving on with the story is you open new boards. I had been wearing out my favorite ones.

I am curious of my Culdcept stats, I haven't played anywhere near as much as you but after 3-4 days straight with nothing else I had to move on and take a break. It is fun though!

I might be wrong but I think the history of the @ thing started at kotaku. Whenever you quote someone on that site it automatically puts @. I know several users have been doing it for a very long time now but it's something i've seen on a few different sites. Personally I just prefer quoting the person and replying beneath the quote - but i'm strange.

I'm the same way with crappy games. They take up too much space for me to want to collect them. I try to hang on to the better games, but my wife would probably divorce me if I kept everything :).
@Dog Of Thunder - I just signed up for it last month because I tried to be a collector but I have bought some really crappy titles on sale and I just can't stand seeing them on my shelf after I 100% them.

@Dog of Thunder - I have been using Goozex since last year and I really like it. However, getting brand new releases is almost next to impossible unless by some miracle you are "first in line". You are better off using Gamefly to get new releases.
@Maijin Caught the Goozex mention. I just started using them (that's how I'm getting Dead Rising) and well, how's it been working for you? I'm a little nervous about wait times for getting newer releases, like this summer I plan on putting in for Civilization, Operation Darkness and Ninja Gaiden 2 (One of these things is not like the others..). How long does it normally take for a new release?

Hey guys I just went on my first date in 40 years but the girl stood me up.
What did I do wrong? I flirted with her, complimented her, traded email addresses with her over lunch, but she stood me up at dinner tonight ; ;
I did everything right, I dont get it, I even asked her to fax over her medical records to me before dinner just in case anything were going to happen.
Clearly the problem does not lie with me.
@ Kaens - I just have like people wanting me to boost 6 different games plus I am trying to finish up rentals and a couple games I own and plan on sending out via goozex. Personally I would just be happy with 3rd for some challenge points ;-D
I also like the idea of multiple friend lists on xbox live. You could have one for say your boosting partners and one for your regular gaming partners so you don't end up spamming them all in mass messages~
@ Kaens - Of course I would like the Viral Badge and the challenge win but I know it's not possible this time. Perhaps if I had Prince Caspian lined up and ready to go today then I would have a shot. But, I won't be getting that game until probably nex challenge.

@Fsh - nah, the main load for bigger friends list isn't xbox.com it's live. Just logged in and doing nothing it has to constantly go through your list and see what everyone is doing. Besides, they won't just blanket make friend lists bigger bc they've said multiple times the avg member has something in the 20-30 range of friends so there is no need to make it bigger.
I could see them doing it in some kind of tricky way where they add some sort of clan support or multiple lists instead of one big one.
@dog - just give in, become a point <word I can't say apparently> and join the party!
@big will - how many points have I scored since our challenge? Not many, I'm telling you I'm retired from trying for 1st place in these things ;)
@Harlequin - I think today will sort out who's really trying in the top 7 and who's just there because the scores are low. Personally I think Rand sees the low total and thinks he can steal a viral badge, Majin sees the low total and wants to steal more points, Stallion I'm sure WANTS to win but unless he's got some hidden games he's going to have to drop another 2k at least and if it's hard for me it's crazy hard for him!
Everyone else has a 'low' gamerscore and they are the wildcards. You never know when someone like Dog is just going to decide he's winning this week and goes to Blockbuster to rent the win.
Me? I'll be hanging around shooting for the coveted 12th spot and enjoying the show for a change!
I was lucky and SvR 2008 had a nice, juicy 350 point achievement on it. A challenge is mostly great motivation for me to actually finish what I have, especially with Dead Rising and Gears arriving next week(I got my Xbox this year, playing catch-up!)

I've had MLB 2k6 sitting here on my shelf for a long time and am tired of looking at it.
I'm not going to win this challenge so you guys don't have to worry about me. I just play games as I get them. Just so happens I got Iron Man and it was extremely easy and fast points. Now I am off to do some PGR 4 DLC and then maybe start on Bully. Not to mention that I am going to have to go back and beat Iron Man on Formidable. I just don't have multiple, easy, fast games that are required to win challenges. I just like to play at my own pace.
Well being early hours of the morning in the UK i am finished for the night. It looks like my reign in first is finished. It lasted longer than i expected. I havent given up yet though so keep an eye on me Rand al Thor 19 ;)

@Kaens - I noticed the friends page has no advertising on it. My best hope was there were going to raise the friend limit cap. As much as it sucks, I'm guessing that by breaking it down it helps with load against Live instead of showing 100 people at once for thousands of people's friends lists... Or they just hate us...

So far this challenge I've played Culdcept Saga, GTA, & a little Lost Odyssey last night. Shocker I'm only in 13th (I tried to hit 12th again), but I don't intend for it to stay that way.
Yea, no matter were you turn people have diffrent times to be allowed to play games i guise you just have to play easy games:) Please don't :P
Actually, that's the only time I can gain points as I work at night. I think that from 5 to 11 P.M. no one should gain points cause thats not fair even though I have....umm...Mass Effect......damn. :-)
I think people shouldn't gain points during the day from (7 am yo 2:30 pm at least :) Becuase thats just not fair even though i have games like Scene it?
Xbox.com was clearly redesigned to maximize advertising dollars by increasing page views and forcing their ads to be more prominent.
Also it looks like it was designed for 800x600 resolution as if the years was 1990. Hell actually I remember 1990 and SVGA and my buddy having 1600x1200 then!
Yeah you are right.... looks like i'll have to sue the hell out of em to fix it. cause as far as god, america, and the entire planet is concerned - xbox.com is BROKEN until they let us view our friends list on one page.
I think that was just an update for there website a while back. And there not going to take it off unless they need too. Just a guise.

the ps3 achivements are called acomplishments , dmc 4 has the same achivement list as 360 version you jus dont get rewarded points for unlocking them

Being in the UK i was expecting to wake up this morning and see about 7 people with more than 1,000 points gained. Now i have to do the harder task of staying in first.

I hate how Smackdown vs Raw 2008 is so bugged. I've done the requirements for multiple achievements and they refuse to unlock! Submission-sensei is giving me the most problems right now. Ahwell, I'll take my 400 points and be happy with them. Maybe Culdcept will be faster.
@ Harlequinhybrid I'll tell you one thing, for your "first" challenge you sure did come prepared. Almost 900 points is a great way to start out. As for you to be treated "gently" that would be up the people that will be trying to win this week. As for me, I am going to take the week off, just causual gaming. My big win last week was MORE than enough. I have to work on my completion percentage.

Some people complain about easy games, but I think most people here don't have a problem with them. It just makes it that much more impressive when one of the guys with 100k+ wins one of the challenges against we lower score folk though, IMO.

Thats cool. They are things I wouldnt do anyway. I am proud of all my achievements (including the Avatar ones ;) )as i got all of them myself and in the 100% legit way. I thought that easy games would be considered cheating as i find some games a lot easier than most. (for example all CoD4 achievements including Mile High Club didnt pose any real problem for me).
Also points hoarding before challenges, meaning you earn a bunch of points offline before a contest begins and then connect to live on the day of the challenge so it looks like you earned them that day.
I think the general consensus of the participants of these challenges is

Account sharing
2nd profile glitch
gamesaving
and 'hacked' achievements
Good luck to all involved. This is my first challenge so i hope you all break me in gently ;) As for "cheating", what is considered cheating exactly as I want to play fair as it was.
I have to kind of agree on the cheating thing, it seems playing King Kong & TMNT etc.... is the equivalent of getting in a fist fight and drawing a gun or knife in the end when you see that you may actually lose.......<but in the words of Dalton from the classic movie Road House "No one wins a fight">...sorry...sad I know....but just had to go there :D
