The excitement continues. Don't believe me? Check it: Ms Cortana gave up the social life to get the lead by earning 640 points. Overall, the 24 total challengers put up a total of 3690 points, so at least people are competing! limerickred added 870, Aturally Gupa added 710, Ms Cortana added 640, MLC2074 added 575, xMac73 added 280, Wink added 135, Chrome30 added 120, Mr Achievement added 90, grizzy419 added 70, redtokyoboxers added 50, Outinthedark added 35, hardeho added 30, KEVIN HHH added 30, SoupyC added 20, Birky x360a added 20, and Bill Mcdougal added 15. Challenge update - 7/5/2008
Oh no! Today was big fun! I see numbers! Ms Cortana swung the whooping stick and took the lead by sucking out 530 points. When you count it up, all 24 challengers gained 3505 points. Challenge update - 7/2/2008
Let's get this party started! The Old Spice Experience Challenge known as 'SoupyC's Celebration Party' is in action with 24 people duking it out. Sure, they all have some wacky gamer pics, but this competition is serious with a capital 'S'... which stands for snacks. Next stop, the trash talk boards for some good-natured ribbing between competitors. Game on!
I just realised now while sorting this out that all 3 prize winners are female! =O
The girls definitely put us to shame there boys!
Thanks!
congrats Ms Cortana - no prze for 11th place? lol.....j/k.
I preferred to get it out of the way now. It was like an itch you just have to scratch. lol!
...and yeah, the lower your score the bigger selection of games you have to choose from so points do come quite easy. :(
At any rate, see you guys around. :D
Good challenge SoupyC. Congrats to the winners. If you have a GS around 15k and want to win a challenge there isn't much to stop you =) congrats, but you should have saved Avatar for a different challenge lol. Congrats again!! Take care.
Congrats to Ms Cortana -- not that there was ever any doubt. :)
Like always, I had a good time. Thanks to SoupyC for another great challenge!
Until next time~
Well I was willing to spend what 2100 MS points costs here in the UK, so I'll work out what the closest option is to that with regards to US points. I'll notify the 3 winners later today but congrats to all who participated. I had fun, and while not putting up many points personally, it's nice to see others encouraged to do so! :)
We have a great community here at 360voice and I'm just happy to give back a little of what I've got from it!
over 4000 points in 5 days is crazy - good job Ms. Cortana you earned it! Also they do sell 4000 MS point cards, at least they do at best buy and target in N. America. When i lived in PA. they sold them all over even gamestop!
lol..Thought it was needed....I was getting worried. :P
Alright Avatar! FTW! lol..
I obviously don't speak for SoupyC, Col Hartman, but I think it is fair to say that Soupy is going to be awarding the closest equivalent to 2100MS points available in the US, not work out how much MS points cost here in the UK and then spend the equivalent amount in dollars to buy US MS points.
Looks like if an american chooses that option, they will miss out on 500MS points. It sucks, but blame Major Nelson. Or Shane Kim.
Someone told me that since they don't market cards for more than 1600 here in the states, that the equivalent or closes unit to the UK's 2100 would be ...1600. So I'm a bit confused..lol!
Wow - 2100 MS points in he UK is like 4000 US MS points! Man Ms Cortana u lucky dog. Soupy let me know if you do another one this is a great giveaway! I'm going to start calling Soupy "Old Spice" Soupy gives away better prizes than Old Spice did....lol.
Yeah, I'm trying to get the hang of Dead Rising. It's pretty hard. Then again, I don't really know what I'm doing, lol. I only rented it but I may end up buying it used since I like it so much. I like using that gardening tool looking thingy (have no idea what it's called because I just pick up stuff without paying too much attention sometimes) since it takes the zombies' heads off. :D
Dead rising is one of my favorite 360 games. I have been playing Ninja Gaiden non stop, that games is simply amazing. The achievements don't come easy, but it is worth playing because there is so much action and it looks gorgeous. Good job everyone.
Just found out that 2100 points are just available in UK, so if the winner chooses the MS points and is in UK, it will be 2100, otherwise it will be whatever the closest unit is to that!
OK guys...I've decided on the prizes. They are a $40 gift card for Amazon, a 360voice T-Shirt, and 2100 MS points.
Winner gets 1st choice, 2nd place gets 2nd choice, and 3rd place gets whatever is left.
Enjoy! =)
Dwad Rising is awesome. Try and work out what the different books do.Certain books stop certain weapons from breaking so quickly. An d different books stack their effects, so it is possible to use a katana nearly 1000 times before it breaks.
And when you find a frying pan, try and heat it up on the stove and then use it on a zombie. Funny.
Well, let's see what I can do the last day of this challenge. The goal was to get a whole lot more points yesterday but I played Dead Rising for the first time and got into it. Such a good game.
I was gone all day today, decided to take a day off since I spent my 4th of July gaming, and spend some time with my family. Back to gaming tomorrow!
I have defeated 'Kung Fu Panda' --- therefore, you may now call me master! :D
2 songs away frm finishing Rock Band Guitar on Hard..... I want that achievement.
Ironman is an easy 850...don't give up on it yet!! Start out on easy and just tear through it and get the 850. The other 150 is where it will drive you nuts. I switched to Ninja Gaiden (such a great game). I don't have any "easy" achievement games right now, so winning is pretty much out of the question...but I will retain my rank 3 overall on the challenge board hahaha. Good luck all!!
Man, I am out of this challenge. I've got Ironman to play and that game sucks. Majorly. I can't be bothered to carry on with that pile of dung. So back to the shop it goes. Argh.
(That is my excuse for why I didn't manage to make it into the the top 3)
Mac, I am on the Titanium man mission and it is just insane. He keeps running back to his tower and recharging his life haha...well, this will get me ready for another frustrating game called Ninja Gaiden II lol. Thank goodness I like a challenge. Happy 4th everyone!!
Chrome: Iron Man on formidable is definately very cheap and frustrating. I really enjoyed playing on the easier difficulties, but the endless barrage of homing missiles during the formidable campaign takes the fun right out of an otherwise good game.
You guys don't even fsknow what you's are talkinf about....nofodysa been dminkin anygthin...you huyds are the besthyu i liuyove yall!! ;)
I am playing Ironman. I am trying to get through it on formidable difficulty, and if you have played the game you know it is really frustrating. I need some games that will spit me out some easy achievements =) Good job to everyone who is putting up big points! Have a great weekend and be safe.
You guys enjoy the holiday weekend. :D
I know what you meant. I thought I'd just take the analogy a little further by suggesting that we were too busy doing 'drinking' to do commentary.
But maybe you're right. Too obtuse.
No...I meant the commentary.
Cortana dropped the hammer --- no doubt.
This party died? Have you seen what Ms Cortana has been doing whilst we are all drinking in the corner? She has been filling her achievement cup with points. Lots of them.
And some of you might notice that I have a few points that were gained offline. I am not a gamesaver, but because I use a wireless router, seemingly every time I sneeze, I lose my connection.
And I just finished Viking. Strangely enough, it was actually a fun game. A little slow, but bizarrely engrossing.
Wow...this party really died~ :D
lol! Hey, just giving you guys a run for your money. Now settle in gentlemen and get your game on.;)
And as soon as I typed my last message, I just saw Ms Cortana pull 600+ points out of the bag.
Hey, Ms Cortana. MS CORTANAAAA!!!
No wonder John Spartan left you. Floating in space after saving the universe? That's a likely excuse. He obviously wanted you at home, clearing his laptop of viruses. Not on 360voice, showing the boys how it is done.
(Again, not to be taken seriously. Just a little joke. Well done, Ms Cortana. Looks like I am going to have to work extra hard to come second)
@futiles.
5 walls of fire? Great balls of fire, I say. And by that I mean, I will finish that boss off. In time for the challenge and to also catch Derek1337. He seems to be taking it even more serious than me. And we can't have that.
I am going to be the winner!!!!
(To be said in some sort of megalomaniacal voice, and some crazy laugh)
(Not to be taken seriously)
dame I so wanted to get in on this!!!
@Vice,
Viking's final boss isn't that bad, unless completely impossible, unrealistic and horribly thought out pre-boss build-ups drive you crazy. If they do, I'd start drinking now.
I totally hosed myself in this one, too. My mother-in-law comes to visit tomorrow. We haven't seen her since we moved (Louisiana to Kansas) in December. She's missing her daughter and grandson. Will be here till Wednesday, next week. I will be trying to log in just to keep streak. Happy Fodder!!!
Decent points gained already, and everyone's havin a good time! =)
I see a lot of familiar faces in here, and I'm glad you all showed up.
@Vice: Thanks for the congrats. And I may not win the challenge, but I doubt I'll be coming last ;)
Where did you get those clothes? At the toilet store?
Good luck all everyone =) I will try my best to pace myself over the next few days. Have a great time and if you need assistance on any multiplayer achievements just ask.
Hey xMac, I've been reading loads of scary things about the approach to the final boss. Knowing my luck, it will be one of those things that I really can't do, and will stop me getting the points that I need to win. It seems to run into SoupyC's masterplan of having people in his challenge that he can beat. :)
Vice: I really enjoyed 'Viking' --- well, up until the final approach to the boss battle. If you have any blood pressure or anger management problems, I'd med up before hand --- it's very frustrating! lol
GAME ON
ROCK ON
PARTY ON!!!!!!
I could not help but getting some achievements last night in WALL-E. My son really wanted me to finish a level for him so he could play one that was not so hard. Oh well. I should still have a pretty good increase in this challenge with the other games I have ready to play.
I love lamp~
Argh, I didn't pace myself and missed some achievements out of Viking for this challenge. Boo. And I didn't get a chance to say it, but congrats on becoming a 3vce.
Good luck you guys. :D
The party has started. Who brought all the drinks and food?
Good luck, everyone.
Other stuff too, eh? Well, okay.
Ladies and gentlemen, can I please have your attention? I've just been handed an urgent and horrifying news story. I need all of you, to stop what you're doing and listen.
CANNONBALL!
Good luck everybody!
Awww...we have 24...I'll still give 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes. It's close enough to 25, lol!
Good luck to all, thanks for showing up, and do what you always do at a party....have fun! (do the other stuff too if you like!) ;)
