Challenge update - 7/27/2008
The Gamerscore Challenge titled Gamershub.org Battle Zone Challenge: Return of the Tank (3 games as prizes) is over... and o0EVIL0o x360a has been proclaimed the winner... However don't get too comfortable... we just found out the princess is in another castle... err... wait... wrong challenge.
When you count it up on the final day, all 14 challengers gained 2815 points. Chrome30 added 1,195, SpeleoFool added 500, stivy added 260, o0EVIL0o x360a added 240, SmokenRocket added 225, StingX2 added 165, M Scofi3ld added 145, Tonedefex added 70, JadedDarkeangel added 10, and Wedgemaster added 5. A special congrats and thanks to the 13 other competitors.

Here is the news... o0EVIL0o x360a swung the whooping stick and took the lead by earning an amazing 1,250 points and causing the sun to dim in the process... When you count it up, all 14 challengers gained 2565 points. o0EVIL0o x360a added 1,250, Chrome30 added 460, SpeleoFool added 270, StingX2 added 260, blah blah cr added 95, M Scofi3ld added 90, Tonedefex added 70, stivy added 50, and JadedDarkeangel added 20. If you didn't remember, today is the last day for the challenge! Better break out the games for one final push!

Here is the news... o0EVIL0o x360a is in the lead by putting up 200 points. All 14 participants combined, they put up a total gain of 2645 points. SpeleoFool added 560, StingX2 added 485, SmokenRocket added 410, M Scofi3ld added 295, Chrome30 added 235, o0EVIL0o x360a added 200, blah blah cr added 120, Wedgemaster added 100, JadedDarkeangel added 100, Tonedefex added 85, gameaholica added 40, and stivy added 15. SpeleoFool is definitely on the move with that score increase... you better be watching your backs...
Just remember, 2 days might sound like a lot of time, but it really isn't. The excitement continues tomorrow!

Oh no! Today was big fun! I see numbers! o0EVIL0o x360a is the current leader by sucking out 570 points. When you count it up, all 14 challengers gained 1800 points. SpeleoFool added 635, o0EVIL0o x360a added 570, Chrome30 added 265, Wedgemaster added 175, blah blah cr added 75, StingX2 added 40, M Scofi3ld added 20, and ZeroDesolation added 20. So yeah... SpeleoFool's gamerscore jumped quite a bit eh? People better start looking over their shoulders.

Yesterday saw some furious gamerscore action. Here's the recap. The competition is heating up as o0EVIL0o x360a jumped in front of stivy by gaining 480 points. Overall, the 14 total challengers put up a total of 2410 points, so at least people are competing! SmokenRocket added 650, o0EVIL0o x360a added 480, M Scofi3ld added 235, StingX2 added 200, SpeleoFool added 190, Chrome30 added 180, stivy added 170, blah blah cr added 130, unjustpigeon added 85, JadedDarkeangel added 50, and Tonedefex added 40. If I were you, I would keep my eye on SmokenRocket... Today's gain is only a hint of what is possible.

with extra days at work than what i had hoped for and getting hooked on GH3 i should have done better maybe next time.

If Fantastic 4 wouldn't have been such a drawn out game, I might have tried a little harder to up some more points. maybe next time.

OK, one more thing....
So I was mainly playing for the challenge points and fun. Since I'm on the staff @ TGH I'm not sure what the rules are for claiming one of the BattleZone codes, but regardless of what the official policy is I'd like to take myself out of the running and donate my code to stivy for his 4th place finish (and so Avatar was not in vain, lol).
I was just glad to see that people with high Gamerscores were in the top 3. That means we really do love to game lol. Gratz again on the finish. I need to pick up wall-e for the 1k =) and Kung Fu Panda. I have a lot of work to do still. Have to break 100k by years end.

Had I been going for the win hardcore I would have had everything I needed lined up and ready to go, but I started the challenge thinking there was no way I'd win. I was just sorta putting up points in a "play & see" manner and by Friday I had more or less run out of stuff to do. VP wasn't the best closer, but at least I knew I could put up some points, and I was ready to have it on my card. :D
Anyway, I knew I'd lost 3 days ago when I said I wouldn't catch you. You had build a sizeable lead already, and I knew you had Wall-E to keep it going. And even if I had burned Lost, I know there's something else you could have used to throw up a bunch of quick points (although you'd need Scofield for the MP on that one, lol).
So that's where the sneakiness comes in. Tipping my hand like that wasn't a good way to try to catch up, even though techincally everything I said was true. I just wanted to make you work for first, lol.

Can't believe you caught up to Speleo at the last second like that. Here I was thinking he was the only competition out there. lol He's a sneaky one, had to keep a close eye on him. Although, it would have been a no contest had I been still by myself over here. Good thing the boxy trash robot was here to help me out. ;) In all actuality, I was anticipating them adding it to my family genre and knocking me down to 2 stars for like the 4th time so I cut them off before they could do so.
It was a good challenge for sure =) been awhile since I've had a good one. Gratz guys/gals. Take care and look for my prize challenges starting 1 August. Watch my blog for details. We are starting off with a 1600 M$ point card. Watch me if you want to win.

Nice job on the last-minute streak, Chrome. I'm sure I could have pulled out an extra 100 or so, but I really don't want NFL Tour on my card right now--that game is terrible! Anyway, 1180 in the home stretch deserves 2nd. There's just no catching EVIL when he doesn't want to be caught. : D

Well i am officially out of the challenge, hurricane knocked out the power (has been off for 2 days and is still out), some of my fence (was across the street in the neighbors yard), and some of my roof (ceiling got pwn'd with rain)...and the worst part is i just bought my house less than a month ago :(...good gaming with you guys and gals, maybe next time i will give a real challenge to the challenge :)

I thought I would be able to finish off the arcade portion of Forza2 but it has taken a lot longer than I though. Spent probably 2 hours racing and I still have 4 tracks left to get gold on. DOH!

I would do what your heart desires. If you really want to win then drop Avatar. No big deal to me. Plenty of people have done it in a challenge. But, keep in mind you can only drop it once, so is this the challenge you want to do it in?
Oh, I *know* I can't catch EVIL. Because if I even hint that I might try he'll "discover" some of those easy points that are "no longer out there." Just like he knows I could pick up the phone and have "Lost" delivered to my door & make these last couple days interesting. Muahahahaha. :D
OK...I don't think I can catch evil...If I decide to be "cheap" and go rent avatar, I could maybe get into the top 3 if I push it (I have a couple of arcade games and I can probably push through a few levels of Tomb Raider).
So the question is, do I settle for a dirty feeling and a quick 1k point boost to try and get top 3, or do I settle for top 10 and just push through with the games I have...tough choices. ;)

The fix is load up another level and exit and save. It should pop the achievement. Same thing happened in lego star wars. Hope that works for ya.
I have no use for an arcade game unless it's easy and fast. lol

well...my kids and I just pushed Lego Indiana Jones to 100%, but sadly it didn't give us the '100 percent complete' achievement...scouring forums for a fix to this other than going through the entire game again to get those ripped off 100 points.
man, that stinks. I feel for ya. I'm gonna hate having to go back through on hard but I'm gonna make sure when I do, it'll be the last achievement to get and I'm gonna knock out all the rest before I do that one.
Zero, I know how you feel about ROTSS, I hated it!! I beat it and still have to go back through on the harder difficulty =(

Well I kept dieing and got stuck in F$:ROTSS last night. So I didn't get a single point. 8( I'm really starting to hate this game. I think I'm gonna have to play this until I beat it so I won't ever have to play it again.

wow people are freakin out down here in south texas about the whole hurricane thing, gallons of water are sold out just about everywhere!!! even the little water stands are empty (you know the ones you buy for 0.24 $ a gallon) utter chaos....... well i guess its good thing i only drink soda ;)

LOL, the Madden 06 franchise is a pain to get, because it takes sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long, if i remember it took me about 3 or so hours to get....just sitting there push a button over and over again watching the same screen.
you can all just start mailing me easy 1000k games to cleanse yourselves from feeling dirty ;)
So, I feel super dirty right now. I am simulating 30 years of Franchise in Madden 06. I have had the game since it came out and never played it past the initial 600 points I received playing through a season. I decided to go for the other 400. It will make 23 Completed retail. I still feel dirty though as I am doing it in a challenge. Ahhh well.

Your GS is 6k now...there are so many easy games out there for you. You could easily put up 12k or more. I will let you all know right now that Conan is annoying >< been playing it for hours upon hours and only got 285 from it...sigh.

I do play a lot but there are no more easy points for me out there it seems. Even Beowulf which I just finished took 3 days. (probably couldn't done it in 2 if I hadn't gone to my friends house and got liquored up playing Rock Band on one of my boost accounts) ;)
wow, thats cool having all three boxes and can see that being possible, but expensive !! No problem Stivy... I have seen some outstanding scores in these challenges, so you never know ! I am of course hosting it so don't plan on putting up much at all. I would like to break the 40k mark sooner then later but have a lot of appointments this next week.

very cheap and was planning on pushing my gs and stats up any how challenge or no challenge.
But a shot at a free live game made me save doing it till the challenge started.

Oh I didn't have a problem with the games. I just didn't want to play something that wasn't "legal" I couldn't read the official rules of the challenge on Gameaholica's website. It's all good. I rank 3 overall in challenges, so I think I will be fine hehe. It is all for fun. I play everyday anyway, I might as well do a challenge =)

@Gamea: interesting about the modded boxes; guess my perspective is warped from people like MightyMango, who really does own 3 boxes, every XBLA title released and hundreds of retail titles (there's a "Member of the Moment" interview with him on the site here somewhere where he talks about his collecting).
Yep what Speleo said, and by the way, the same game from 3 regions is usually done on a "modified" "chipped" 360 and they play backup copies of games downloaded from the net...
Anyone cheating will be disqualified, same thing if someone comes in last day with a huge amount of offline points.

@Chrome: My days of keeping up with that crowd are over. I'll put up a few for fun, but it sounds like we've got quite a competitive group here this time. : )
Also, all games are typically fair play. I think Gamea had mentioned an example of someone using Avatar from 3 different regions as something he didn't want to see. As far as 3v is concerned, I think tactics like that are actually legal, but it's going to require a separate XBox for each region and 3 copies of the game (which may not be available to rent). IMO, if you want to invest upwards of $1000 to win a copy of Battlezone, knock yourself out. : D
Seriously, if you have any concerns about whether something is "legal" or not, PM Gamea. I can tell you gamesaving, profile glitching and playing offline to boost in massive points when you do go online are all considered foul play around here (3v). If it feels like cheating, don't do it.
I guess all games are fair play...I see folks rockin FN 3 and Avatar...so that answers my question =) Going to be hard to beat someone starting at between 4 and 15k but I shall do my best! 7 days of madness woo hoo.
