The Old Spice Experience Challenge titled Fshguy's Grand Theft Viral - Low Low points this week is over... and kaens has been proclaimed the winner... However don't get too comfortable... we just found out the princess is in another castle... err... wait... wrong challenge.

Here is the news... kaens is out in front for the time being by feeding on enough achievements for 405 points. All 31 participants combined, they put up a total gain of 2425 points. lol dude you're freakin' hardcore. 2 hours would kill me. i always start falling asleep playing games and my car crashed into the wall and wakes me up or the guy just sits there walking into walls.
Make me earn it!?!? Are you kidding me? I had to drop 5k because I have Avatar looming over my head! I've slept only 2 hours in the last 2 days of the challenge!
Seriously though, great job Will. I'm always advocating people having to earn the wins here bc the prize is the viral badge so I guess it feels better when you had to work for it.
Will could have won though, 1k in Avatar & Jumper will give you 300 for going through the tutorial. Thank goodness he feel asleep!
As JC said, if you see me scoring points (well more than normal 1k-1200 a week) then I'm going to be trying. He was wrong about me having a plan though. I thought for sure 3k would win the week and after Spiderwick & one of the Cabella's I was just going to play normally. Then Will pushed me and I had already invested those 2 easy games so I couldn't just let them go and so I was stuck going for it.

True, but after bein in 4 of these challenges with you guys, i know what to expect lol. 1 rule i've noticed. If you score big Expect someone lower to pull out the big guns. Its like i know i netted 2k total in the few days, but i know the last few hours someone could just hammer out avatar and a few easy ones. I just got lucky i didn't play many launch games.
No no, fantastic four is cake man! You have to work 4 hours? Dude, I was at work for 11 today, and tomorrow I won't be able to play from 9-5! I will just be able to start gaming at 5 instead of 7 (or later).

Well a couple weeks ago he had 52k gamerscore and he was hardly on xbox live except to log on long enough to increase his score by thousands of points on different days (with online dated achievements) He was the first person in the world to get over 900 points in GTA IV but EVERY SINGLE achievement except for his first four were unlocked in the same exact minute (and he is not an MS or rockstar employee) the guy is without a doubt a cheater but I am a bit thrown off by his cheating methods. There was no way he could have gamesaved GTA IV has I said he was the first person with over 900 in the game. So that only leaves the option of hacking it but what I dont get is why he would have his achievements 'hacked' in that game but not go for the full 1000. Perhaps he was hoping to appear slightly legit by not having them all hacked for him? i dunno but i've never seen a cheater not go 'all in' on a hacked game before so its a bit abnormal by cheater standards.
JC so you're saying that he cheated by like uploading his achievements or? it is bizarre that he has almost 100% game completion.
I saw....but i never give up! but he's at a huge advantage, i have to work tues.evening for 4 hrs.. :-(

I honestly think the winner is already determined. Someone like Kaens would not put this much work into his score in a challenge if he didn't already have a plan that assured him of winning.
It's the same with me. If you ever see me score 1,500+ points in a challenge odds are I am gonna win that challenge because I only score noticable amounts of points when I have a plan worked out that ensures me of winning no matter what games are used against me.
So i'm gonna just go ahead and say congrats to kaens winning in advance :p

Seriously this week had a lot of things timing it to have me try this week. Let's be honest, with 125k I can't exactly just randomly crank big #s out every week I have to be a little more strategic about it. GTA4 causing others to score low helps out, but honestly the #1 factor was that this challenge ends on a Tuesday. I work from home on Tuesdays and thus I'm home a lot earlier and can get more gaming in that day.
I still went to see Iron Man Friday, I still saw my gf for 5 hours last night, I'm still taking my son to his football game today. I want to win of course, but I'm not disrupting normal life to do it.
lol i'm not surprised either. it's been 2 weeks since kaens came to work. just wait until halo wars comes out.. then there might be a true low scoring challenge.
I'm not surprised. Whenever a major game comes out or it is expected that there will be a low scoring challenge there will always be one or two people thinking "SWEET I dont really wanna play this game so can use this as a week to take the win!"
Kaens happens to be one of the people that doesn't consider GTA IV their cup of tea so he wisely capitalized on this weeks challenge :p

I saw 'Iron Man' yesterday --- it was fantastic, btw!!! I'm a huge super hero freak, so maybe I'm a little biased, idk. I highly recommend it --- hell, even my wife and 15 YOA daughter loved it!

I'm not a big GTA fan either, which is why I'm not playing it. I always liked the free roaming aspect and just messing around, but I could make it through a storyline. Of course I didn't like Assassin's Creed much either, so FWIW.
In some ways I agree with Kaens except I like the game. I just dont like it nearly as much as the masses.
I will say this though... gamerankings.com ****es me off Ocarina of time was the highest rated game on that site for years even though the game was crap compared to REAL zelda games (AKA the 2d ones) now GTA IV is number 1 on that site and while GTA IV curb stomps ocarina of time in fun factor GTA IV is not "greatest game of all time' material. Heck it's not even 08 goty imo.
The Greatest games of all time are on systems like the Snes. I am considering filing a 73 octillion dollar lawsuit against gamerankings if they don't change their site to reflect this.
PS. GTA IV is fun but I must say it is extremely annoying to get to the end of a mission, accidentally hit a person on a sharp turn, get the cops after me, and end up getting killed just because some stupid **** didn't look both ways before crossing the road.'

Not trying to spam the little thread here, but I'll get into it more. I actually LOVED Crackdown, but maybe that's bc I can quickly get to where I want to go quickly without interruption. Plus don't underestimate the addiction of orbs! Also I loved Assassin's Creed and Oblivion would be my most played game if I had a blog then so it's not the open world part that I have a problem with.
Really, it is a simple as the world is not as fleshed out as Oblivion. So these gangster games turn into me repeatedly driving back & forth (with nothing to distract me otw) and constantly being interrupted by cop chases. It's no different than I hate the random encounters in JRPGs. You are trying to get somewhere and just keep getting jumped by invisible encounters. Which is why Oblivion or Blue Dragon shine imo bc I can see and if wanted avoid the encounter.
Frostbite, Kaens is sneak backwards.. stealth based games are my favorite. Thus 6 star police chases are opposite of what I like ;)
Jaferris, I know you can take a cab, but honestly I'm so stupid I can't figure it out. I can't find a way to call one on my phone and if I try and hail a cab I just end up jacking it. Yes, I'm that lame and embarrassed to admit it.

Thats not that uncommon of a statetment there Kaenes. Alot of people don't like GTA, in fact they HATE GTA. You probally didn't enjoy Crackdown either. "Sandbox" games are NOT for everybody. I can agree with you about Katamari being a fantastic game though! And WOW congrats on completing Katamari 100%
Okay, I'm going to make a bold statement here, but GTA 4 is ass. Every GTA game ever has been ass, I bought into the hype, got it at midnight, played it for at least 8-10 hours and I don't like it.
But that's me, it's the genre. I had the exact same problem with Saint's Row & Godfather. These games are cool in the beginning, I like the story, I like the base gameplay, but I f'n hate driving all over town to get to missions. I hate constantly having to jack a car to go anywhere and then having to ditch the f'n cops bc they saw me jack the car. Now I'm even farther from my destination.
It's NOT fun people. Jacking cars and running from the cops in cars that handle like crap is NOT fun. It's a shame because I like everything else in the game.
Seriously, Katamari was more interesting than GTA4.

as for video game violence, I agree JC. if you have a kid shouldn't be a big deal. I too have been playing violent video games since I was 7ish. I haven't killed a man... (yet) nor do I have any sort of criminal record. worst thing that I have ever done was stroll on to campus while there was a riot so that I could watch flaming dumpsters roll down the hill, people hit golf balls from rooftops at the police and parking meters get smashed open with large rocks.

Video game violence does not cause crime why do so many people in the world not realize that, I know all of *us* do but there are so many people out there against games like GTA cause they feelit makes people do bad things or something.
I have been playing violent games all my life including the genesis version of mortal kombat when i was a little kid and I don't even have a criminal record nor have I ever stolen from someone, killed someone, assaulted someone or anything like that.
Sure I have my violent little side rants on the internet but as long as I don't act on them and recognize them for what they are (words designed for amusement) then there is nothing wrong with it :P
Heck come to think of it the worst thing I've ever done in my entire life is probably sending a message to a guy that hacked over 250k gamerscore telling him that it would be in his best interest to c ease and desist before he gets his family eradicated in real life.... But that message wasn't bad, if anything a message like that would make me a national hero ensured of getting into heaven!

There are many methods to get these achievements but I feel my methods are the easiest.

There are so many ways to choose your actions in GTA IV due to that it is VERY easy to get the achievement for surviving on 6 stars very easily. I got the achievement on my 2nd attempt at surviving 6 stars. The way I did it I could have in theory survived FOREVER.
