Challenge update - 4/30/2008
Let's get this party started! Fafhrdd has created an Old Spice Experience Challenge titled 'Fafhrdd's Quicky #12'... and 6 gamers have joined up to throw down. There's a lot riding on this challenge. Especially the bragging rights of these gamers. Who's got the most game in this group? We're going to find out.
Good game everyone! :)
AxGryndr - It's no big deal. I'll take your word for it. We had a power outage today too and my internet was messed up for a few hours as well.
I'm trying to complete The Simpsons game right now, I know there is a few hundred left in it. But I don't know if I will knock it all out tonight by the time the challenge is over...so we'll see!
I appreciate that. I just thought it would be nice to add the Viral badge. So does that mean I need more then the 55 points to beat you? You going to give me a challenge?
Yeah I woke up at 5am this morning and saw you online playing it. And I saw that you already 200 in it. So I knew from the get go today that I would have to come up with something better that 1K overall if I wanted to have a shot at winning this one.
If you say it wasn't intentional then I will take your word for it.
Thanks to splitwig I got my XBox back but if you guys feel cheated I won't add anymore achievements.
I know my COX cable is garbage so it may have been while I was palying I lost connection and didn't know it, I guess that is possible. By no means was it intentional.
Thats not true about the dates, two of my CSI achievements have dates and three don't. My three new Guitar Hero 3 achievements have dates. I don't think dates always are a true indicator or online vs offline.
I have tried the towel trick and that has work once. I just tried what you said and it came back to life but I think if it happens again I am going to call XBox to get a new one again.
Also I got the RROD one time after we had a power flash (power went out then came right back on). So I shut it off and turned it back on again, and still had the RROD...so I unplugged the power cord from the back for a minute or so, then tried it again and it worked.
So you might want to try that...who knows, it might work for you.
Yes, you were offlining. Hence your achievements just saying "Acquired" rather than giving a date when they were achieved. It's just a bragging rights challenge, no need to lie about it. I don't care what games you played, it's fair game. I've played CSI, I thought it was a pretty fun game. If you weren't offlining, your achievements would've had a date by them.
Not to be picky, but...every time I checked your profile throughout the day it showed you as being offline....
And if you look at your profile it shows that you achieved those points offline.
But that sucks you got the RROD. I only had it once and MS was really quick about me getting a new one.
I have no need to offline game. I came in this challenge telling you that I have two games to play that will put me on top, CSI and Lost Odyssey. I get CSI done and now I have the RRoD so I can't play Lost Odyssey. Also, it is a known fact that you can beat CSI in 6 hours easy, it's not like a played avatar. This is the reason that most people don't want to be in a challenge. If they add any major points they are automatically chastised and either offline gaming or gamesaving. I am not guilty of either.
I was not offline gaming, I beat two achievements this morning at like 2am and then I just beat the rest.
I just got the RRoD so I don't think I will be adding any more points.
Yeah offline gaming in a challenge is just as bad as gamesaving...
What's the point in offlining in a bragging rights challenge, AxGryndr?
splitwig75 - You're playing Open Season when you could be playing GTA4?! Shame on you! :P
Going to have to game it up when I get off. It sucks starting a challenge on Wednesday, my last day before my three day weekend.
I enjoyed Ao2. Very fun game! I can't wait to get back home and start playing some Xbox!!!!
True that. I was playing it today with Ardralis over at my house and it was pretty cool, kind of like a combination between COD4 and Gears of War.
I'd definitely be up for some coop. It's a good game, but single player isn't nearly as fun as coop.
I have two or three games that should help me be on top.
You wanna play some co-op online or something? I just rented Army of Two also
The only good game I have right now to up my gamerscore is Army of Two. I like my chances for not coming in last, but I seriously doubt I'll win.
Should be fun, I have three games to play right now, so I think I'll be able to be competitive.
aww i missed the start of this one :(
I don't think so, this is so mine.
Challenge scout picks splitwig75 to win followed by Derek1337 and I.
Thank you and I look forward to a good, clean competition. No low blows, biting, no groin shots but I will tolerate all the trash talking you can dish.
Thank you. I'll need it. :)
GL to all!
