porschephiliac decided to ride the gamer-train yesterday. I will admit it... I was happy. What is the gamer score? 62,209 is what it is! That is a profit of 50 points over last time! He played TimeShift acquiring 4 achievements, NBA 2K7, Bionicle Heroes, Party Animals, and then he tried to watch TV, but I killed the power... If I can't have him, no one can.
Oh BTW, did you know that porschephiliac is competing in a gamerscore challenge? Don't take my word for it! See for yourself! 31 other people are throwing down in this challenge. If I do the math correctly, it means that 31 players X 14 days means a whole lot of trash talk! Out of everyone, porschephiliac is holding on to the number 2 spot. We just have to keep plugging away at it for these next 5 days... insert game... push buttons... get points.

Go ahead... call me a wussy... but I almost started crying when porschephiliac turned me on yesterday. 62,159 points of raw gamer score are making you jealous! That is a profit of 150 points over last time! He rallied Castlevania: SOTN, TimeShift picking up an amazing 7 achievements, and did it while drooling over my awesome graphics and sound.
Did I mention the gamerscore challenge that porschephiliac is competing in? Check out the progress right now! There are 31 other people rocking out on this thing which keeps it fun. Currently porschephiliac is holding the number 2 spot in the group... decent. However there are still 6 days left to score achievement glory. Let's get to the top of that challenge board! Go!

---GAMING---
Well, I started the TimeShift single player campaign last night, and surprisingly found myself enjoying it. The graphics are actually well done, and I love the look on the bad dude's faces after I stop time and take their weapon. I actually nailed what's been called the hardest achievement in the game first off, without even trying. I imagine I will have most of the campaign done by the time 3v3a starts Monday.
I have held off of Viva Pinata: Party Animals (940/1000) while I work on some TimeShift, but thankfully I have earned enough to net the 2* Party Badge, even with the recent update.
I already sent back Bucks, on Monday, and GameFly still hasn't received it... hopefully they get it today and send off my Launch Badge titles.

In about 2-3 weeks, We will have recovered from our financial strains and be able to resume the give-a-ways. Also, in 2 weeks, I will finally get my stuff out of Army storage, and I will finally have my HDTV back! It's been rough playing on a 21" monitor via VGA cables, so it will be nice to go back to my 37" HP HD baby...
2 weeks also means getting my tools out of storage so I can finally fill up my new Matco box... it's kinda empty waiting...

So I have a new gamer picture in case none of you loyal readers noticed. Jury is still out on the cool factor. It is somewhere between awesome and cheese-factor-four. I am sure it will grow on me. In gaming related news... I thought porschephiliac just wanted to listen to music or watch a DVD. Turns out he was there to game. With a gamer score of 62,009, I should have known that was the case. That is a boost of 205 points over last time! That was enough to cross the 62,000 mark! Good stuff! He rocked out to TimeShift adding an amazing 13 achievements, and porschephiliac won't admit this, but I had to force him to stop.
This is really good stuff... the more we play, the more chances we have to leave dieselv2 in the dust. Call me crazy, but a 45,141 point cushion is not nearly enough for me...
I also want to mention/remind you that porschephiliac is participating in a pretty slamming gamerscore challenge. If you are curious, follow along over here. There are 31 other people playing along as well... they better watch out. Out of all those people, porschephiliac is currently parked at number 2. We just have to keep plugging away at it for these next 7 days... insert game... push buttons... get points.

porschephiliac needed a friend like me yesterday... I could see it in his eyes. I am there for you brother. Remember that. Gamer score is 61,804. That is an improvement of 230 points over last time! He rocked out to Party Animals finishing an amazing 9 achievements, and then he tried to watch TV, but I killed the power... If I can't have him, no one can.
Hey, I almost forgot! The gamerscore challenge that porschephiliac is competing in is on day 6 and we're doing our best to win this thing. Check out the progress right now! There are 31 other people involved. I didn't know porschephiliac even knew that many people. Currently porschephiliac and I are on top of the challenge mountain... it's so beautiful, and high. I can see my house from here. Is that an airplane, or a space shuttle? How's the weather down there? We'll celebrate this lead tonight, but we're already thinking about the next 8 days and all of the achievements we'll be earning.

He rocked out to Party Animals gaining an amazing 13 achievements, and... hmmm... maybe that was all... it felt like we played more games.

Alright, the plan:
Party 2*: I am currently playing Viva Pinata: Party Animals (690/1000), and should have that done in the next day or two. Obviously an easy one to get.
Sandbox 1*: I own, but have yet to actually earn a point in Assassin's Creed (0/1000)... once I get focused I will drop that bomb and get my badge back.
Social 2*: Honestly, I only noticed this earlier today. I thought I was farther off than that. I am going to need some sure-fire assistance on Hardwoods Hearts (0/200) or Spades (0/200), (or both, lol) to nail this badge. Anyone, any night, let's do it. Send me a message.
Music 1*: I am at a stand-still on this one. I refuse to play GHIII because of the stupid achievements... and I stink at singing so KR: AI Encore is probably out of the question. I need Harmonix to drop that update allowing us to play Band World Tour via Live on Rock Band (410/1000). Patience is a virtue.
Oddball 1*: I own 2 of the games in this genre. Yet I still am avoiding this badge. Since the added title Overlord - wait, I own 3 of these games! Still... This one is on the back-burner for now.
20 Arcade Completed: Wait a minute! I got this one yesterday! Ha ha ha! I guess I will start the effort towards 30 then!
40 Completed Retails: I am sitting at 38. With VP:PA pending 100% in the next 48 hours, and 3v3a working on TimeShift, I should have this one in the bag in the next week or two.
So that's the deal with my badges this week. I am obsessed with this, forcing me to only update once a week, otherwise everyday would have a novel like this one... lol

For those of you who are in the know already, the deadline for TimeShift has been pushed to the 20th to sign up. So far there are about 5 gamers signed up to work on MP achies in it, so, to be involved, you must have a copy of TimeShift by the 20th, and you must sign up.

porschephiliac's Weekly Recap - 5/12/2008
This entry is a little different than the others. It is a recap of the last week of gaming. Check it: Not two, not five, but SEVEN days of gaming in a row! Last week was as solid as it gets when it comes to porschephiliac throwing down with the games. I feel like i'm bragging when I say our score climbed 645 points last week... insanity! I guess that is what completing 32 achievements can do!
I prodded porschephiliac to try 3 games last week: Gun, Assassin's Creed, and Party Animals. It was a mix of good and bad. Also, I think we can all agree that porschephiliac's favorite game last week was Splinter Cell D.A.. He played it on 2 of the days.
So that's it for now. It was a good week. On to the next one.
Monday's: I got nothing to say here...

You may have noticed the massive point drop yesterday thanks to Viva Pinata: Party Animals... I earned 475 in a matter of an hour... man that's one easy game. With major help from MightyMango, Aegis Wing has finally been toppled earning me the 20th Arcade completion and a shiny new badge to go with it. Thanks again Mango, you are the man!
Tonight? I'll drop some more VP:PA and then I might start TimeShift on Elite...
I have sent back Trophy Bucks, so lets see what GameFly suprises me with next.... hopefully it's a launch game I can load and send back real quick.

I told porschephiliac 'Don't make me hurt you!' and the threat worked because he decided to show up yesterday. A gamer score of 61,359 is in our back pocket. That is an increase of 495 points over last time! That was enough to cross the 61,000 mark! Good stuff! He played Aegis Wing picking up 1 achievement to finish the game, Party Animals winning an amazing 25 achievements, and yeah... wow... my processor hurts... In the now-you-know department, I really thought that gaming 410 days in a row would hurt... but it actually felt good... it felt warm... like butter straight out of the microwave.
Oh hey, time for the gamerscore challenge update too... porschephiliac still has that going on and stuff. Check out the progress right now! 31 other people are also involved... which is madness. Currently porschephiliac and I are on top of the challenge mountain... it's so beautiful, and high. I can see my house from here. Is that an airplane, or a space shuttle? How's the weather down there? Let's not get comfortable resting on our laurels. We've still got 10 days left and there's a lot of achievements out there for the earning.

You may have noticed that I finished off Cabela's Trophy Bucks yesterday... I had to play it all the way to the 93rd hunt (out of 96... sheesh) to get the last 10 point achievement. I didn't have to worry about getting all Golds though, since I already did that before, so it was a breeze taking only about 4 hours total to get through it, instead of 6 or 7 like the first time.
Next up? Gamefly sent me TimeShift (3v3a game #1) and Viva Pinata Party Animals. We'll see what they send me after I send Bucks back in.

Bucks makes 38 retails, one closer to 40 completed retails. I loaded Gun, adding one more to Launch King, and I have yet to start Assassin's Creed to get my Sandbox back. Also, Music, and Oddball are on the horizon. Expect a more thorough update on Tuesday.

porschephiliac came to represent the gaming world. 60,804 points and counting! He rocked out to Battlefield 2: MC, Cabela's Trophy Bucks, and then porschephiliac went to get some food. I told him to bring me back something but I got seriously dissed.
This is really good stuff... the more we play, the more chances we have to prevent Hotdogmcgee from leaving us in the dust. Call me crazy, but that 21,562 point deficit is totally doable...
On another note, I just want to also mention that I am happy with my owner porschephiliac. Our gamer reputation increased yesterday proving to me and others that people like us... and we like people.

I know that badge updates are usually reserved for Tuesdays, but after yesterdays update, I had to rant. I lost a badge (again) and gained a no-brainer badge. Sandbox, which I fought long and hard for (100% Just Cause, Crackdown, 75% Saint's Row) updated 2 new titles that has dropped me a measly 150 points out of the badge. Thank goodness I own, but have to play, Assassin's Creed. I will drop that one in the next few days. If you don't have the party badge, you're not an achie junkie. Otherwise, go play FF2 and it's yours overnight.
As far as gaming is concerned, I loaded SCDA again and finished off all the MP achies in it. Now, I need to go through the SP campaign (I bought the book for $3 used :D ) and see if I can 100% that one. I'll do that sometime in the next few weeks.
Gamefly has confirmed via e-mail that TimeShift (0%) and Cabela's Trophy Bucks (94%) have been shipped. After that, I hope it's a launch title so I can work on those for the badge.

All is well at the Porsche household. The lil' one is over his earaches, the wife is finishing up her cough, and I am tired, but doing very well. We had some car trouble, ironically, that has holed us up financially for a few weeks until my Retirement pay comes in. After that, we should be right as rain.

I started a wicked over-the-top challenge yesterday, with 32 of my oldest friends.... 14 days, let's see who's gots it!
I am working on an underground project that involves achievements in MP games. The 360Voice Achievement Attaining Association, or 3v3a, will be up and running shortly. Let me know via XBL message if you're interested. It would require a GameFly or similar account.
Lastly, the graphics project I have been quietly working on has taken a back-burner, but will resume shortly as I see my graphics guy next week. Stay tuned.

I dusted off Splinter Cell Double Agent last night, and started to 'play' the last two maps I need to 100% the MP. It felt nice playing a game that I still suuuuck at. At least now I only have one more map to go, and I will knock that out tonight.
I have a bunch of started games that I will be working towards over the next month or two... I want that completion back up to 95% - before the challenge started - so I have some serious gaming ahead of me. I am around 82%, so I have a hefty hill to climb.

Also, remember the challenge that porschephiliac was participating in? It has wrapped up. This challenge should have been called 'How to be dominated by porschephiliac.' A lesson was learned by all. OK, I'm going to go sort these achievements out, you go and sign us up for another challenge -- I'll be ready when you get back.

I managed to finish off Surf's Up Monday evening, and am ashamed to admit that my overall experience with the game was pleasurable. It was one of the first achievement games that I did not trudge through, I looked forward to playing it to 100%. This makes 37 total towards my 40 completion badge.
Coming soon from Gamefly should be NBA 2K7, Cabela's Trophy Bucks, TimeShift, and SOF: Payback...at least that's the next 4 scheduled. If anyone is interested in working on the FPS MP achies, let me know... lol

Like I said before, I have added one more towards 40 complete retails, and am still STUCK at 19 Arcades... someone, please intervene ;)

I am about to start work on the 1* Oddball badge again. I own 2 of the games that are in it, and suck horribly at one of them. However, 445 away and the potential for maybe a 2*, I might have to focus on it.

After I get all that done, I should be in the neighborhood of that 1% badge... I am only 2k away...
